New Preferred Vendor Relationship Provides Disaster Recovery Options
Metavante has developed a preferred vendor relationship with DRS, Disaster Recovery Services, Inc. (DRS) of Charlotte, NC. As part of this relationship, DRS will provide disaster backup for select M&I item processing centers and customers. In addition, DRS will be the disaster backup site for M&I's wholesale and retail lock box operations.
Metavante and DRS have installed dedicated network facilities that support both SNA, FTP and router-based traffic between DRS and Metavante. This installation makes it easier for Metavante customers, who also have agreements with DRS, to conduct disaster recovery exercises specific to on-line image enabled transaction processing systems. It also eliminates the need for customers, who use the same equipment, to install their own network facilities.
Customers have the option to utilize a pre-tested recovery system at DRS Recovery Center facilities, or utilize pre-staged mobile recovery labs (MRLs) for on-site recovery at their facility. This flexible combination of recovery strategies enhance the value of customer business continuity investments and planning.
